Kamloops has more than 120 fabrication and manufacturing companies, on over 2,200 acres of industrial land (Venture Kamloops, read 18 Sep 2026). The work here is forestry, mining and mineral exploration, and steel and wood fabrication, with trucking, rail and air cargo on top.
The city says it has eight industrial parks, several with rail and highway both (City of Kamloops industrial land use plan).
Mining supply is the hardest kind of shop to run on a spreadsheet. One order, twenty parts, three suppliers, and a mine site that needs it Tuesday.

Straight answer: the two obvious ones are shut.
The BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund paid for equipment, machinery and technology upgrades. Its page now says “program intake is now closed,” with no reopening date. You can email to join a waitlist (BC government, read 18 Sep 2026). The federal Canada Digital Adoption Program stopped taking new applicants on 19 February 2024 (BDC, read 18 Sep 2026).
What is open is BDC LIFT, launched April 2026. It is financing, not a grant: preferential rate money for digitally enabled equipment, robotics and automation, for manufacturing, transportation, warehousing and mining businesses over $5 million in revenue (BDC LIFT, read 18 Sep 2026).
