The work
Four things we built. Different industries, same engineer.
Each one started as a problem somebody said out loud. All four are live: press the button and use the real tool.
Recommissioning a gas plant from twenty-year-old drawings.
The client bought a plant that had been shut down for years. 646 tags, thirteen questions each, before a single part could be bought. We built the system that answers them, tag by tag.
A 60-person fab shop, up for sale, and nothing written down.
The buyers loved the business and could not see how it ran. We interviewed 22 people, pulled out everything they knew, and built the whole operation into one package: flows, procedures, safety, ISO, maintenance, a legacy library. The deal closed.
A supply business that runs itself.
A teeth whitening supplier that sells to salons. One console reads the mail, chases the leads, counts the stock and writes the letters. The owner clicks only to send and to pay.
An end to end water delivery business, run from the truck.
One truck, 150 doors a week. The app asks every customer, builds the run, sends the invoice and takes the payment. The owner drives.
The money
28.5 hours a week. That is $750.
We mapped a 90 person fabrication shop. 28.5 hours every week went into work nobody sells (the payback chart on pragmabuild.com/how-it-works).
What those hours cost here.
- $26.33an hour, median. A production supervisor in the Winnipeg Region.
- $750a week. 28.5 hours times $26.33.
- $39,000a year. $750 a week times 52.
Thirty nine thousand dollars a year is a person. Not a line item, a person, paid to type the same number twice.
That shop had 90 people. Yours is a different size, so your number is your own. The walkthrough measures it.
Your town
Yes, this is your town
Winnipeg has 726 advanced manufacturing companies, and Manitoba has 51,235 advanced manufacturing employees producing $6.93 billion of GDP (Economic Development Winnipeg, read 2 Oct 2026).
Economic Development Winnipeg calls the city North America’s largest centre for transportation manufacturing (same organisation, read 2 Oct 2026). Buses, rail, trailers, agricultural machinery, and the metal shops and suppliers under all of it.
Build a bus or a rail car and you are running a bill of materials thousands of lines deep, with a change order halfway through. That is the job that breaks a spreadsheet, and it is the job we build for.
The work
What we build
Build a bus or a rail car and you are running a bill of materials thousands of lines deep, with a change order halfway through.
Thousands of lines, one structure, versioned.
Multi level bills of material with revisions, routings, standard cost, where used and change history. Change it once and every quote, job and purchase order downstream sees it.
The shortage is flagged before the line stops.
Requisitions, approvals, purchase orders, vendor records, price history, expediting and a three way match to the invoice.
Actual against quoted, on a job that takes months.
Job status, labour and material capture and stage sign off, so a long build does not hide its cost until the end.
The certificate is attached to the serial number.
Inspection, non conformance, corrective action and traceability tied to the part, the job and the operator, which is what a transportation customer is going to ask for.
You keep your ERP. We build the four things it never covered.
Money toward it
Somebody may pay for part of it
The federal Regional Tariff Response Initiative is open through Prairies Economic Development Canada, which covers Manitoba. It has already put over $8.4 million into seven projects in one prairie region for automation, technology adoption and market access, and PrairiesCan says it keeps taking applications (PrairiesCan, 17 Apr 2026, read 2 Oct 2026).
If tariffs have hit your order book this year, that is the one to look at. We will tell you when a door is shut before you waste a morning on the form.
What we hear
What usually stops people
“Our bill of materials is thousands of lines and it changes.”
One structure per part, versioned. Change it once and every quote, job and purchase order downstream sees it. That is the whole point.
“We already run a big system.”
Most operations this size are not missing an ERP. They are missing the four things it never covered, and those four live on a spreadsheet one person maintains.
“Our people are gone in five years.”
The setup is not in the manual. It is in the man who has run that press for twenty two years. We write it down while he is still here.
“You are two provinces away.”
Most jobs run remote on a screen share and a phone camera in your operator’s hand. When the job needs boots on the floor, we fly.

Free. Thirty minutes. You get a written map of your operation: every process, what it costs in hours and dollars, what can be automated, and the order it pays back in. You keep the map whether or not you build anything with us.
Straight answers
- Do you work in Manitoba?
- Yes. Most jobs run remote. When the job needs boots on the floor, we fly.
- We build transportation equipment. Does that fit?
- That is the normal case here, not the hard one. Deep bills of material, change orders and shortage lists are what the system is for.
- How long does a build take?
- Hours to days, depending on scope. You see working pieces every week. There is no reveal at the end.
- Who owns it?
- We keep the code. You keep your data and your freedom to leave. Export everything any time, no fee, and a thirty day exit with no penalty.
